'Paul Hersey is a teller of tales and weaver of stories. Whether in words, images or video he is able share his passions for climbing, the ocean and adventures of all kinds. He has had some amazing experiences on expeditions long and short and is able to share these with humour and a real sense of excitement and emotion.'
- Greg Carroll, Core Education

'We had so many people congratulate us on our choice of speaker...your talk was enlightening, and with humour and some great, scary photos.'
- John Doggett, organising committee, 2016 National Lions Conference

'I had the pleasure to join Paul at a speaking event at the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival earlier this year. Paul's stories are drawn from a life spent adventuring in the outdoors & gives insights into life lessons learned from those personal experiences. I can recommend Paul as an entertaining, enlightening speaker for any event.'
- Chuck Berry, adventurer and public speaker

For me, public speaking is an engaging and thoroughly enjoyable part of story telling. Through a combination of humour, personal anecdotes and lessons learned from failure, success and close calls during my adventures, I try to connect on a personal level with the audience, whether they are from the corporate sector, volunteer, outdoor or other specialist fields. My message is that of being a cautious adventurer, taking risks only when necessary, along with trying to sustain a balance between both the physical and the mental aspects of my life. I believe this approach helps lead to a true sense of self. Not a judgement of intellect or fitness, rather my philosophy is about having an openness to challenging myself in both forms of endeavour.

I have given talks for schools, private functions, volunteer and specialist groups, and at various business events. Please contact me at herseyp@ihug.co.nz if you would like to discuss an opportunity.
